Hahnenkamm is Kitzbuhel's most intimidating slope. This legendary mountain, with its steep and tricky course, is the site of the World Cup Downhill. During the World Cup in the month of January, the town is bustling with activities and it is a very exciting time to visit. The spectacular "Hahnenkamm" downhill race was first held in 1931. Kitzbuhel also has some less intimidating slopes featuring long tree-lined runs, such as the Kitzbuheler Horn and the Bichlalm. There are about 186 miles of well-marked mountain paths.
The town of Kitzbuhel exudes European charm, with its storybook appearance, narrow streets and horse-drawn carriages. It has a reputation for generous hospitality. The town features magnificent hotels, gourmet restaurants and extensive wine cellars. There is a very happening après-ski scene, with nightclubs and the casino.
